D’Casa and Kentra Technologies joined forces in Odense, Denmark, during a week dedicated to Health and Healthcare Innovation, with a focus on improving the well-being of the European population.
Pedro Duarte Meira, CEO of Kentra Technologies and Executive Director of the ITGest Group and D’Casa, was a guest speaker at WHINN 2023 Denmark. During this week of innovation, together with the University of Aveiro and Cluster Habitat, of which Kentra is an active member, his participation focused on discussing with other industry professionals the trends and challenges facing the modular construction sector, smart furniture, health information systems, health and well-being, and the Third Sector, while also promoting the ITGest Group’s applied engineering capabilities in these fields.
The relevance of the ITGest Group in this field
Within the ITGest Group, Kentra Technologies is responsible for the development of responsive engineering solutions for the healthcare sector and related social services.
D’Casa supports architecture firms and other design professionals in the development of functional, sensor-enabled and responsive furniture, as well as in the manufacturing of this type of smart furniture. These solutions incorporate the innovative and distinctive features of ActiVas, including the modular construction of new care environments.
Beyond Primary Care Centres, these applications also extend to distinctive private residential developments that seek to combine health and well-being safety requirements with the comfort of the living environment. In this context, smart furniture and other wood-based elements represent an important differentiating factor in this type of construction.
Finally, following ITGest’s acquisition, approximately one year ago, of the Digital Products companies of the Compta Group, the aim is to integrate several Smart Cities components into these solutions. These include circular economy principles, particularly those related to reducing the carbon footprint, efficient waste management and recovery, environmental quality, efficient management of energy consumption, and integrated management of the technical maintenance of these developments.
